  • Fuel tank question

I have an Attex 400 with the 2 stroke JLO engine that I am restoring. This Attex has a aluminum fuel tank. According to the sales brochures on this site, if it had the metal tank it should be a '72. My question is that it does not appear that this welded tank has any provision for any kind of vent. There is only a metal fill cap and the 1/4 inch brass outlet . The machine does have a vacuum operated fuel pump in the engine bay, but how does the gas move to the engine with no vent in the tank of on the fill pipe?

Many older aluminum fuel caps had a small hole drilled on the side, like where the knurling is.
