Are you sure your clutches are working correctly? Have you ever cleaned and lubed your secondary? What spring are you running? What type of machine is this in?

What rpm will it pull at wide open throttle with the drive belt on? Check it with a tachometer , if it won't pull 4050-4100 it's to slow. I usually find the wrong governor spring in the doggy ones. Part # for proper spring is 691507. If you are getting proper RPM next thing to check is secondary clutch. It could be staying converted( in high gear).

Does throttle cable pull the bell crank(thing that turns) to the stop? If it's even a bit shy of the stop it can be a dog. The governor spring could be weak but not likely. Find someone with a tachometer. The difference between 3600 RPM and 4100 is night and day. The red spring is in the big clutch. Take someone for a ride with engine cover off and watch the belt position in the big clutch. When the vehicle slows down under load it should move to the outside of the clutch. Also when the vehicle bogs out can you stop and then take off? If you have to stop and pull the sticks back to get any power the clutch isn't downshifting. Even try shooting video of clutchs under pull ( kind of difficult in a 2) and post for us to watch. A max 2 should be quick and climb like a goat if all correct.

Hopefly i did the normal thing and overlook the simple !! Raised the top and was just checking everthing to be shure not over looking anything now that I ordered the red spring today and low and behold it looks like the belt is about 3/4 of an inch from the drive cluch when it is just sitting , going to start there . Since this is still the factory belt from 99 boy if thats it do I feel duuu

A worn belt will do that too. That belt should be sitting right at the top.

The belt sits at the top by tranny but not even close to clutch on motor the belt still say's recreative industry on it going to tighten it and hopefully get to take it out but with my son just haveing shoulder surgery on Wednesday might put a damper on riding since when we ride he and grandson will just about stand in front of truck if you try to leave without them
