Ok guys I'm thinking about putting a brand new motor on my 96 max IV, I want a beast and I'm thinking the vanguard 35hp. What do I need to look for as far as making sure I get one that will work? Shaft size? Clutches? Etc.

The pto dia will be different so you'll probably need a new clutch, they also stand a bit taller.

Drive clutches for a 1-1/8 PTO are easy to come by but anything larger will be harder to dig up. old comet 1190's went to 1-7/16 but used ones is all that's out there from what I know.Comment
