  • argo magnum charging system(1992)

hi, i have a 1992 argo magnum with a kohler m18 engine. the machine runs perfect and is a great rig for what i use it for.after my grandfather died i decided to restore it a bit since it was sitting for 3 or 4 years. all it needed was a new fuel pump and away it went.the only problem with the argo is that the battery dies really easy and i am after putting two new ones in. could it be the regulator (recitifier). if so please someone help.thanks!!

Use a voltmeter to check see if it is charging the battery. At full throttle you should see 13.5 to 14 volts.

Definately check the voltmeter. Do you let it sit and idle alot. I have a 01 bigfoot and the manual says it doesn't charge until the throttle is at 75% or greater.

found the problem!!!! this will help alot of other people with this same problem too. all you need to do is just find the wire (yellow) that connects to the regulator and there should be a green 30 amp fuse on that wire. check to see if its blown.
