what benefit is there tween 18 hp and 23 hp.

im running 18 hp on a frontier with adair tracks. its hard to turn in low gear and really difficult in hi gear. any recommendations???

How many hours on the belt? What maximum rpm does it turn in neutral? Adair's generally turn very easy unless they are digging.

I think it could be a belt issue or loose drive chains, either could make it more difficult to steer. The Adair tracks turn very easily even in gumbo.

I have a frontier with the 23hp B&S, and a set of Adairs ... if your running system is all in order , as stated by others here , belt and chains etc. etc. you should have no issue with turning. As to what transmission you have ,Low geared , vs the High geared or Admiral it will play a part in how responsive it feels , as to 18hp vs. the 23hp... One thing I do know , the fuel usage of a 23hp B&S vs. the 18HP .. the 18 uses a LOT less ....
