main fuse blown when starting

Hi, I've got a 2009 Avenger and I recently encountered an issue while attempting to start it: when I turn the key to the start position, the starter tries to engage but then the main 20A fuse blows. Has anyone else experienced this?

It sounds like you have a wire shorted to ground that is causing the fuse to blow. Check your electrical connections from the switch to the starter to see if any of the insulation on the wires has been compromised. Check your battery connections and also the connections at the starter solenoid. There is a wiring diagram in the Argo manuals section on the home page of our site that may help.
