While checking governor noticed extra spring on governer why !!! Don't know but now have 3870 rpms no load on my 16 hp briggs

I see springs added to bring idle down and they usually screw up governor setting. The idle spring is on a small arm next to cylinder head. I try to get a no load wide open throttle speed of 4000-4050 with the drive belt installed. Sounds like the arm on bell crank could be tweaked to get another 200 and that makes a lot of difference.

The bad part is I remember adding it and later found out that the drive clutch had a broken guide in it and Wouldent let it disengage
