  • Oil temp gauge not working, trouble shooting ?

Ive never installed, replaced or repaired an oil temp gauge, i am trying to get it sorted out, along with the 28 other things on my list of "stuff" i have to do.. When i fixed the bilge pump, it was hooked up to the wrong place on the solenoid, so i just wired it direct. Same thing with the headlights, they were not properly put together... I have no idea if this is just a simple fix or replacement... Any thoughts on what to look at for a possible reason its not working ? Thanks

What machine and engine do you have? Also, what is the existing gauge doing? Is it moving at all? Is it stuck on zero? etc.

Is it a mechanical or an electronic sending unit?

Its a 93 magnum, 8 wheel, im embarrassed to admit that i have no idea what type of gauge it is, this is my first time dealing with one. I dont even know how it attaches to the block to detect temp... These are a pic of front and back. I dnt know why the pics are rotated to the left, thats not how i took it, or how it looks on my phone. The gauge does nothing whatsoever. I ran it for 2 hours & it never moved.
        Thanks guys

Look in the Argo service manual on under the electrical section. It's on the homepage of this forum in the manual section. There should be a wiring diagram showing you exactly where it goes.
