I have an old max ii (serial 71611) . I am having issues keeping it running and I am wondering what motor this is and where I can download a service manual. I had to replace the choke cable and when I got it the top of the engine was wrapped in duck tape. I believe this is the valve access hatch? I removed the tape and found that the small hose underneath"was totally destroyed. I have no idea what this does and where to get a replacement. Also, prior to removing this, the motor would be very difficultvto start especially after running for a while but once runnin it ran pretty strong. I am guessing I can improve operation with a a carb cleaning but I don't know where to start. Help please!!

First the engine I believe is a Techumse. The part you have there is the crank case Vent. You can find the hose and parts for it on any small engine site. Or search on here as I am sure some of these guys will have parts for it !
As far as a Manuel go's there is a section on here that will have what you need. Go to the LINK header at the top of the page.

that looks like the oh160 techumse and if its like mine it has the warsbro carb no parts avalable had to switch to a kohler carbComment
