  • Kawasaki TA440A carb/idle issue any ideas

New to the game here, need some advice on the Kawasaki TA440a motor. Picked up an Attex thunderchief 440. Was hoping it would of been the twin mikuni Jlo but ends up having an arctic cat, kawi TA440a some one stuffed into it instead. Brought it home,Gave the mikuni carb a good clean out, pilot and main jet cleaned out good. Tank and lines cleaned and refreshed, but still hard to start. Wants to run with
Choke will die with out, and can't get it to idle to save my life. Rubber intake between carb and motor has a few signs of age but nothing obvious. Was thinking air leak of some sort?? Lead me in the right direction! Hear these motors are supposed to be pretty wild, but without any action I keep looking into a vangaurd

I have same motor in my max IV. It's awesome lots of power. I use starter fluid and choke on cold starts when warm no issue. Without pictures I'm just guessing. Check adjustment of throttle cable on top of carb that controls piston/throttle valve. Raising the valve very little will increase fuel by lifting the jet needle increasing idle.
