I have a jlo out of a super chief 500 and have no spark. I have run some basic tests with a multi meter and it appears I am getting good readings on both coils and the points. I am not familiar with this engine could anyone give me a few pointers on where to look. I have read this is a somewhat common issue but Im not sure where to start with engine and honestly dont want to have to strip it down further than necessary.

Steve if your planning on using this engine I would change the points and condensers regardless. MFG supply is where I get mine. Gotta pull flywheel off and then make sure you mark the stator plate so you can install where it was for timing reasons. Just did this to one of mine and now doing a twin carb jlo for a buddy. I personally think the condensers are usually the cause or worn dirty points. Good luck with it!
