What engine oils are you guys using in your engines? I'm trying Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic 5-40 which was developed for heavy duty turbocharged diesel engines and is also rated for wet clutches in ATV's and Motorcyles. I've always been a Rotella fan since I saw good results with it during the 41 years I was a diesel mechanic.

Thorn, Mobile-1 is a good oil for about anything except for engines/transmissions with wet clutches. For that, Mobile-1 Racing 4T synthetic or Mobile-1 V-Twin is ok, it's rated for JASO-MA. Our AATV's don't have wet clutches so About anything is ok. I use the Rotella T6 synthetic in everything including a Polaris Trail Boss, Yamaha Grizzly, Honda Pioneer 500, Polaris RZR, as well as the MAX IV with a Kawasaki FD750D engine. The KAW likes it and doesn't use a drop of oil even working hard running trax. Rotella T6 is JASO-MA rated.

I installed an electric oil pressure gauge and water temp gauge on my MAX IV with the Kawasaki 750 engine. My oil pressure runs about 50-60 psi hot and the water temp runs about 195 to 205 degrees F. Is this about what anybody else sees? The idiot light didn't seem to work. The cylinder heads on the v-twin engine are aluminum and with aluminum heads, the water temp is usually around 180 to 190 degrees where cast Iron head engines run 200 or more. Then again, it's an electric gauge and sender which could be off a little. Even under heavy load, it never exceeds 205. Any body else run gauges? If so, what do they read?

The 18 hp Vanguard in my Max II lives in a heated garage year round so it gets SuperTech SAE 30 from Wallyworld along with a NAPA Gold oil filter #7035.
