  • kolher 440 no spark

i picked up a couple hustlers and took two to make one. had to do some re-wiring as it was pretty crappy but basically there. there were three black wires coming from the motor, two of which werent hooked up to anything, i assumed they were grounds and wired them as such. i tried to fire up the engine today and have no spark, was told it was running when i got it but never actually heard it run so who knows? but either way, any suggestions? anybody have a wiring diagram for the ignition?
    thanks

Remove the assumptions, may be coil grounds.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.

I've been using this manual as a guide. Section 4 goes over how the coils are wired, and some troubleshooting tests.

thanks for the help. I blew it all apart and figured two of the 3 black wires were ground wires to the points which were originally used to kill spark and shut the motor down, 3rd black wire was ground for the magneto frame.

I'll be looking at that here soon. I finally got mine started up tonight and it turned out the "ON/OFF" switch on the dash isn't connected to anything! D'oh! I ended up pulling the plug wires off the spark plugs to shut it down, and now have to figure out what wires to use to wired up the switch.
