I checked for chit's n giggles the pricing on a model KDW702 Kohler Diesel engine 16.8 HP liquid cooled. http://www.kohlerengines.com/onlinec...sp?engnID=1855[/I][/I]60

Well this is the response I got from a dealer I contacted

The Kohler Diesel engine model KDW702 is an engine that would have to be ordered in from Kohler in the USA. A minimum of two weeks to get and for this model with an one inch diameter PTO shaft your cost would aprox. $4435.00 CAD.

This model includes:

Base engine, mounted top tank radiator, radiator fan guard, mounted air cleaner, muffler, muffler guard, suction fan, fuel filter with valve, 12 volt electric starter motor, 45 amp external alternator, mounting feet, mounted control panel, 3600rpm, grp. 8 interchangeable flanging, Also includes safety shutdown for low oil pressure / high coolant temp.

Anything extra you would require would be an accessory.

I guess I will NOT be purchasing one of those for um the next dozen years or till I win a major lottery or some other influx of coinage!

I do think it would be a wonderful engine though so who knows what lays ahead in the next few years. At the least the lil 10HP from Princess Auto that is in a couple of other members here.

Well thats a nice lookin engine.....not a liquid cooled unit...nice none the less though. Do keep us informed as to what you hear back.

Did you ever get this engine, any updates? I was also interested in that same exact engine, but shipping it to Texas cost as much as the engine itself.

you might also look at the briggs . they have about 3 desels wish i could shoehorn the 34 hp turbo in my max . robbie

Check with lawn & garden tractor sales businesses. A lot of them sell diesel engines and, install for a fair price, with a guarantee!!

Well I will be keeping my eyes open for sure....the garden tractor idea is good though here in BC Canada...there are very few small engine places that have a decent assortment or inventory.

I'll likely just get the 10HP from Princess Auto and use that, keeping my 12HP Tecumseh for spare.

Heading to Fort McMurray next week so I will check out shops up there...pump motors gen set etc.
