  • JLO vs Cuyuna

Rebuilt a Cuyuna 440. I used the JLO book and it says .083"-.102" so I set the timing at .090" and it acts like it wants to start but I can't get it any farther then that. I keep reading that a Cuyuna should be at .102"-.112". If I change it does anyone think that it will make a difference?

I would give it a shot at .102 Or hopefully Don can help you. as I've personally never timed one.

I'd have to check my Cuyuna books when I get home to see what I set them at, but if it's for racing (of course it is) I'd go the the most advanced end of the spec, and if you're going to fuel it with good stuff, advance it a wee bit more.
          Good Luck!

Thanks Don. I will give it a try when I get home tonight.
