  • jetting for VM 36 on kohler k440- ams

My son bought a mikuni vm36 to put on a new old stock kohler fan-cooled 440. Anybody have the same carb engine setup or the same carb on another brand two-stroke 440? What jet sizes are you using? The muffler and pipes are from stock ccw440 on a hustler. thanks

According to this service manual the mercury Trail Twister 440 (on page 86) used a Kohler 440-2as with a Mikuni VM36 I would think the engines are almost identicle.

If you go to this forum they have multiple discussions about jetting used on the Mercury trail twister.

Also here is a link to a down-loadable manual for the kohler engine

Good luck and let me know how you make out I'm thinking about doing the same thing.

      Es,

Here is a link where they give the stock jetting. Obviously this is for a sled in the winter but it may give you a baseline.
