  • 1999 Max II Bogging Down

We are in Michigan's U.P. with 16" of light snow and some slush once in awhile. Machine has factory rubber tracks with no mud flaps installed. It's wife's machine I have a Max IV. The Max II always ran great on dry land, 1st time for us in snow. Her machine has lost most of it's power and has dark smoke coming from exhaust. Any idea on what to look for? Tbone said might be snow entering thru vent. we will be turning heat up in trailer and checking plugs, chock etc. PLease help, still have 5 days of vacation left.

Check that, if possible, ice has not formed on air filter. Check for a critters warm bed.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

choke stuck on? oil saturated air filter (overfilled crankcase, or fuel in the crankcase)

Found that choke was 3/4 closed, air filter soaked and plugs black as coal. Thanks
