  • Oil Valve

I am just cleaning out the engine at the moment, and realized that the oil drain plug is impossible to get to most of the time, so I was thinking of installing an oil drain valve - The ones where you twist it and pop it out, and the oil just drains out, and you can fit a hose to catch it and redirect it somewhere else, such as a pan or sump pump.

It would allow me to easily change the oil every 12 months, since I probably won't hit 100 hours a year.

I got one of these, which seems to be the right type for the Kohler Command engine I have in my Max II.

    One of these type: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wz6E20bOuyQ

I got the idea because even with the engine out and up on a hoist, it was difficult to remove the oil plug, so I was wondering if anyone else does this and if there's anything to watch and be careful of when installing and setting up a sump plug valve?

    Thanks
    David
