  • Briggs & Stratton intel IC 305 10 HP help please

    Hi Guys
I just bought my son a buggy and has the Briggs & Stratton intek IC 305 10 HP engine fitted. ( buggy is a bocart 2001)
    Engine numbers
    Model 205432
    Type 0164E1
    Code 001221YD
I can’t seem to find the oil amount ? It only has a yellow plug ( fill oil on it) and no dip stick.
The other thing on the carb manifold it has a tube fitted and at the other end a screw blanking it, ( when I remove the screw the engine starts to dies ) is this normal ?
Any help would be great full.
Hope this is ok to post , just at a loss 😔
    Thanks Richie

Where is the oil plug fitted? Is it the top or down low on the side near the base?

      Hi
Looking at the engine with the drive shaft in front of you , the yellow plug ( says fill oil ) is on the right at the base near the drain plug , but I have another on the left higher up we’re the dipstick is on some models ,but I have a plug that you undo with a flat screw driver .

I don't really see many vertical and certainly no intek engines, if you opened the lower plug and no lol came pouring out id guess that's the level plug.
An easy way to possibly tell is it the fill plug points downward and or if it has a drain plug lower than that.
If the engine has a dipstick tube that is plugged, maybe find the proper dipstick for piece of mind.

I might ask on a mower site.

as full as you can get it in the oil fill plug with the engine level. does the engine run ok if you don't remove the screw? can you post some pictures so we better know the location of the screw and what it might be for?

            Hi guys
I have filled till it nearly comes out of the fill port.
Yes the engine runs ok till I remove the screw in the tube then it dies , not sure how to attach a picture on here

I would check a mower site as well. I have seen this some years ago on a lawn mower with a 1/4x20 bolt in it but can't remember why. Blocking vacuum line for some reason?
