  • Fuel Pump Issues

I just installed a 2.5-4.5 psi electric fuel pump on my 97 Vanguard 2 16 hp. From Princess Auto..$80. Comes with filter and positive feed with no leak pass. Seems to be working. There is a position to mount under seat, direct bolt on but pad or insulate for vibration on steel.....vibration.
Will not over fill fuel bowl...yet.
Power from white and brown wire disignated for oil pressure gauge and volt gauge. I don't have oil and volt gauge but leads are hot on key on position.

Sounds like either wire is hot. Use one and a ground for other wire on the pump If it won’t run.

If it were me I’d mount the whole entire thing where it’s easy to access. Any key only wire is fine with a good ground. Or if you wanted to make it thief proof add a switch so it has to be turned on to run. I’m in progress of working out the bugs in my fuel pump for my tecumseh engine. It floods the bowl but I attribute That to the engine not running in the last 6-7 years. Mine has the switch and I’m greatful for that. I just have to kick it on and off while testing.
