  • Clutch Rattle

Hey guys, are any of you familiar with "Clutch Rattle"? When I have my machine in neutral and rev it up it sounds like the clutch is rattling.. Any ideas?

Hi: Yea, I do get a little rattle out of my Salibury clutch, but if its much, check it over. I had 2 of the 3 screws that hold the cover in place break off and the third was loose, and boy did it rattle then. If you rev it and let off, you may get a little snap as the clutch closes, which means clean it out and lube it. Use a compressor to blow out the clutch, then you can clean it with break cleaner. (I have been told it is Poly-safe, but never personally had a poly machine, so you may want to spot-test, or put a bunch of rags under the clutch while cleaning) Then use a DRY graphite lube, you can get them at a snowmobile dealer, online, or in hardware stores. I use Jig-A-Loo Graphite Extreme, which works great in high wear/high heat apps. If it's all tight, and clean,
