    anyone have any tricks to holding the clutch to remove the pully bolt on the other side of a 440 kohler?, I need to replace my points and can get this bolt off!!!

      k , now the bolts off and someone has been in here before, the bolt hole for the puller is wasted and a piece of its missing!!!!!and this thing wont budge, any ideas? put it in the trash?I cant get to the points any other way can I?

        A piece of the flywheel is missing? If so, it is in danger of a high speed failure (VERY bad) and at best will be out of balance (also bad). I would say cut it off being VERY CAREFUL to not damage anything else, or use a jaw-type puller, either way the flywheel will be junk.

          its just a small piece on the bolt hole right next to the main shaft , the only purpose of the hole is to attach a puller ,I think ,it looks like someone tried to pull it off before and took a small piece of the metal off instead,I keep telling myself to try and get this motor going but a newer 4 stroke engine would be so much easier!!!
