There are a couple threads regarding this engine and from what I hear most of the china engines for the most part have been a good value. My question is can someone give me input regarding power output compared to a briggs, kohler or say a tecumseh 16?? It seems a 16 should be powerful enough as lots of the wheelers come with a 16 from the factory. But are these engines comparable? Also, how is the noise output? I've not seen one up close and wonder how the exhaust is setup. Can it be improved fairly easy.

    Thanks, Randy

I can't compare the Powermax to others but I can say I'm pretty happy with mine. The exhaust was fairly easy to upgrade as I'm running a factory golf cart muffler modified to fit the Powermax 16hp in my lifted golf cart. The factory exhaust on the Powermax was just a little louder. Here's a couple videos of how it performs in the golf cart. I have no governer but watched the tach and kept it below 4100RPM or so in the video. The video actually makes it sound a little better and meaner than it is.

Thank you very much!! I'm on a tight budget and I don't care at all about going fast as long as there is enough torque and it looks to be more than sufficient.

Thats whats in the 208tt. And if you look in my You tube videos, same motor I use to have in the buggy. More attex vids in there too.

Ive pulled logs, sleds, tug-a-war atvs backwards, satelite dishs full of people....power isnt an issue.

I've watched some of your vid's after seeing one of your posts about the powermax. I'm thinking about putting one in an older hustler and maybe dropping a tooth on the t20,that would probably work pretty good. I also want to make it as quiet as possible. They sell the stealth muffler kit's for the quad's and I'm sure it could be mounted up somewhere. I'm a long way's off from that stage but I might get a motor now.
          Thanks, Randy
