So I have been working on my new/old Argo a little more. I can't seem to locate a wiring diagram for the K440 2AMS but I have found some for similiar engines and I think I will be able to fumble my way through it. I figure I will start with the basics and wire the rest as needed. If anyone does have any more info on the wiring with this engine that would be very helpful.
After getting the starter rebuilt I figured it was time to look into the broken pull start. Turns out the spring is fine. The plastic spool that the rope winds on is broken and the rope was off track and broken. I ordered a new one from growth products and it should be here sometime next week, Hopefully I can get it back together ok. Also the small belt right behind the ropestart that turns the fan was in pretty rough shape so I have one of those coming as well.
As you can see from the pictures below the wiring is a mess and I will be replacing all of it with nice new connectors and shrink tube.
Next will be trying smooth out the idle on this old 2 stroke. 1 step at a time I guess.
