What is the best Carb for a G50B?

    Tillotson HD
    Mikuni 34 mm
    Mikuni 32 mm

I ran a tillotson HR and HD on my racer in the 70's seemed to be easy to tune although not much else was available. Never ha a chance to compare.
Its seems the HD would be a natural fit and should allow allot of top end.

This sounds like one for Don?

I had a Keihin at Busco. I'm not sure of the size. It looked like a Mikuni VM32 but might have been just a little bigger. Now I'm back to the VM32. It does not seem as peppy but I think that may have to do with some jetting that was done at Ledges last year.

The engine I'm running with now came with a Tillitson but I never ran with it.

I think the Superchief came with a VM32mm Mikuni. I like the VM36, and I think the toilet on the McKay is a 38 or 40.

An awful lot of snowmobiles that ran the G50B used big Tillitsons or Walbros, and they ran strong as well, so I'm not sure there is a "best" carburetor.
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

As far as reliablility goes, I'd say that either of the Mikunis would be a safe bet (I'd personally would go with the larger 34 or even a 36 like Don mentioned). I've had good luck with Mikunis and parts are very easy to find, but I can't say that I've had the same luck with the Tillotsons. What beast is the G50B going in?
