Has any one put a honda motor in place of a briggs.I put a 24hp honda motor in my maxll, every thing is coming together good axcept for the clutch. The honda shaft is 1inch but a little shorter,When i put the keyway and clutch on it has about a 16th movement,The groove in the shaft of the motor seem to be a fraction wider.Any suggestion.

Sounds like you need to make a step key.

That is what i was thinking but thinking is not always clear:My biggest concern is the shaft being shorter,If that would cause a problem.

It shouldn't matter. It just means you'll have to move the motor so the clutches line up.
