Hi Guys,
I have an ignition switch with 5 terminals at the rear. The front shows 4 key positions. Off - Lights/Run - Run - Start. The wires at the rear have been disconnected (cut) and I don't know what to connect where on the B & S Vanguard 18HP (Model 350447). I have downloaded the wiring diagram from the B & S website but it does not specify wire colors. Here is what I have -
On the back of the ignition switch - Mark B = Red wire branching to Red wire and White wire spliced. Mark G (ground) = 2 x Black wires. Mark S = Green wire. Mark L = 2 x Yellow (traced these to lights). Mark M = Brown.
All I have on the engine is two black wires coming from Stator into a block passing two yellow wires into a voltage regulator with 1 red wire exiting the regulator.
I suspected the Green maybe the kill switch wire but one website suggested the brown would be the kill switch. On a bunch of wires found severed in the hull I can see a green wire with a small round terminal, brown and white wires with spade terminals, red and black wires with larger round terminals (battery connections?). Any ideas?
Cheers.
