  • artic cat 340 motor on an attex?

will this motor work on my attex? I can get a good deal on it just need to know before I buy

You'll probably have to modify the mount. As far as power goes, I had a JLO 340 in my springer for a while and it did a pretty decent job pushing it along.

great the motor is in the sled now running and all just rebuilt. The problem I have is that I am missing a coil and rectifier on my attex so I should be able to swap it all in and be running correct??

It should move it right along nicely.

The carb should be in back and exhaust forward, which is backward from stock. I have not Idea if it will work or not but some singles cylinder engines can have the whole top end lifted up and turned around. I have no idea about that on your engine. Or you may have to run exhaust differently.

I would be ok with a different exhaust setup but if it were spun around wouldn't the tranny spin backwards??

No, just the top end, the bottom of motor stays the same rotation. The rotation is basically set by spark timing and the direction of the pull rope. Both of which is on the lower end. And not every motors cylinder stud patterns are the same on both sides so you can't always do that.

so i don't actually spin the whole engine around to fit just the heads hmmm I wish someone on here has done this before

maybe I should stick with the 297 in it now and just get a coil but will a reg car coil work like it was setup before???

As long as the motor is spinning clockwise,,, as u r looking at the pull starter, it will be fine if you don't want that motor, let me know,,,,,

That engine is not fan cooled. I don't think it'll do too well inside an Attex.
