I have a conquest with the kawi 620 in it. Had the machine out this past weekend moose hunting and had an issue. At certain random times the machine would bog out and lose power. If i pulled the choke out it would run fine for a few more seconds before it would die. Suspecting that it was running out of fuel, i eliminated the fuel filter, and checked the pump. the pump was putting out lots of pressure, but the machine would still die. Any ideas felllas???

I decided to do a little preventative maintenance on my Conquest in August by changing the fuel line and fuel filter. After the change it wouldn't go for more then a 100yds before acting as if it was running out of fuel and then dying It would idle fine.
To make a very long story short. I finally realized a small piece of the fuel line, from cutting it with a razor knife, had worked it's way up into the carb and was restricting the flow into the bowl. I finally found this after Replacing the fuel filter again, new fuel line again, new fuel pump and on the 3rd time of removing the carb and taking it apart. It was lodged in the first jet, imediatly after where the fuel line plugs onto the carb. It is the first restriction past the fuel filter and is the most likley place for a contaminate to get stuck. I think I could have probably cleared it with tweezers and a Q tip if I would have realized it was there before removing the carb.

Yep had the same thing happen to mine last year...took the carb apart and it had chunks of rubber from the old fuel line

Well, I'm going to say you have dirt in your main jet/circuit. By pulling the choke on, you are by-passing the high speed circuit, pulling gas thru the idle/choke circuit allowing it to run. Remove the carb, clean the jets and passages, problem will be fixed.
