Argo Centuar for sure and Triton and a few others I think, but they are all pretty heavy duty.

i put a kubota d750 in a skipper years ago. tons of torque. too heavy for a small 6 wheeler. i got a kubota z482 that i'm going to put in a max2, [if i ever get the time] its much lighter.

            Hi.

I put an 18.hp Kohler diesel in my frontier 6x6. Tourquey.

KD425-2. Got the add on recoil starter for it as well.

            No regrets so far.

It is 43lbs heavier than an equivalent 18hp Vanguard gas powered. However the torque is more like a 30+hp vanguard.

I did need to weight balance the argo just a bit.

I also now do not have as much trouble going up hard pack shores. There isn't as much sudden rpm power you see in gas engines, therefore there is less bounce.

I found the extra 43lbs made a distinct improvement to the frontier.

            Good luck.

                Hi.

Yeah has about 30ft-lbs of torque

About 115lbs total after the first oil change and about 30 hours run time.

Kohler Engines: KD425-2: Kohler Diesel Air-Cooled: Product Detail: Engines

Your right that 160lbs is rather heavy . If my diesel was over 120 lbs i would not have installed it in a 6x6.

I have worked on the diesel engines in my kubota RTV UTVs and they are very heavy. Actually far too heavy as they cause the front end of the utv to flip upwards far too easily.

                Good luck.
