If you remove the governor on a Briggs Vanguard you should install a rev kit to keep from bending a valve at the higher rpm. You can bend the tangs on the governor arm to get a few more revs and keep the governor . Also the single bbl carb throttle rod is operating in reverse when the governor is removed so you have to add a new bell crank to the bottom of the original bell crank to return the the throttle shaft to an idle position. I just did this for George. I think he may have this on video.
