four stroke swap?

right now i have an attex chief 400 with a LR399 jlo rockwell engine. i also have the opportunity to buy a near new 23 horse briggs and stratton vanguard for $200. my question is would it cost me alot to convert this motor over such as new clutch (or would i be able to use the one from the jlo) and what's the better motor (the jlo or the briggs)?

That's a great deal if the motor is in good condition.You would have to make a motor mount and clutch and exhaust.You can get the muffler that bolts on the motor for $80 then run a pipe from the muffler out where you need it.I f you do mostly trail riding then the 4 stroke would be the way to go and plenty of power.Is the 23 a 1 inch shaft.
