  • JLO ID help request

My original post got lost in the upgrade. But not before someone pointed me to the location of the engine id tag (thank you by the way) for a pair of JLO's that I plan to install in my Terra Tigers. I believe the one on the left is a 297cc (according to the PO) but he was not certain. It has a Tillotson carb. Type: 1-F340-1; model #: 33901124

The one on the right comes with an electric start and a Wallbro carb. I know nothing about this one: Type: L340 L; model #: 339 3393.

Can someone with knowledge of these engine codes please identify the cc's?

    Thanks in advance.

I dont know the codes but will guess. Type:1-f340 would seem like a 340 and l340 also 340.
Can you find a casting mark identifying the cc on the base of the cylinder anywhere? Not sure if jlo did that or not but a lot of motors are that way.

Larry's got it right. That's a 340 single (339cc) and should have a number cast into the bottom lip of the jug somewhere. It's got more power and torque than the 300 models and will bolt up the same way. The jug and piston set will mate up to the 295 bottom end if needed. I had one for a while in an Attex and it gave it a real boost compared to the 295 that it replaced.
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

      (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

Thanks Larry and Don. I was quietly dreaming of more HP because the 252cc in my 'runner' sure didn't seem to have much ooomph. These ought to help out a little. But I have to constantly keep in the back of my mind that these ae not for me, but for my young sons.
