If your going from a balloon style to a non balloon style you will need an adaper converting from the balloon 3 to the 4 or 5 lug of a modern rim. Those rims in the craigslist ad are special and unique as the 3 lug is already there. The adapters are normally a simple plate of steel but also have a tube that goes inward and hit the inner spot where the balloon would hit. I looked and didnt see any pictures.

I was told this thing is extremly fast, when it ran! With a CVT and gear reduction chain drive, I see no reason it wouldn't go fast enough for tooling around.

I forgot a question. I know this is probably covered a thousand times in the Tires & Wheels thread but maybe someone can point me to or suggest a deccent replacement for the Firestone balloon tires. I don't need anything fancy or SUPER DUPER, just a easy to fix/replace, moderate traction inexpensive replacement tire and wheel combo. And How do I make the conversion? I'm trying to get this working for now the cheapest I can then put money and time into it when available.

It might be ok. Maybe slow in a sled but aatv is different. Thats a larger motor for an attex.

I had a yamaha 433 sled and I can guarantee you need a different engine! It is a peaky, high revving engine without any low end grunt. Much better off to convert to four stroke than tinker with that engine

That must be where the engine came from.

I have a YZ250 dirt bike and I know Yamaha is Known for their top end. I'm trying not to spend a bunch of money at the moment so it will have to do for now.

You may be able to find a gas tank by posting a wanted ad here on the site in the classified section.

Chains aren't cheap but they aren't real expensive either. You should be able to buy good chain for the whole Attex for under $200. Just make sure that the bad chains haven't started to wear the sprockets. Take a look and you will be able to tell if they have excessive wear. That's when it can start to get expensive.

Hello, I'm new to this 6x6 world and came across one in a yard. Its a ATTEX 6x but not sure of year or model. I looked it over and only realy see 3 problems of which I need some advise. The first question: has anyone heard of a Yamaha Y433? Its a 433cc twin two stroke and from what I can tell in great shape but doesn't seem to be stock. Nor is it even acknowledged by Yamaha and its stamped Yamaha all over. The second question is does anyone know where to get a fuel tank? This one is craked in a few places and won't hold much fuel due to the finger size holes. And the last is are chains expensive to replace? These seem to just be loose, dirty and unlubed but not sure if they really need to be replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated, THANKS!!!
