I have an avenger that was sitting for about 1.5 - 2 years and wouldn't turn over. We found that it wasn't getting fuel, ended up finding out that the diaphragm seized up (I don't know if that's what argo calls it, but the part I'm referring to is where the gas line from the tank goes into a black cover on the engine, its held on by 4 screws). When you take that off you can see the diaphragm where it let's gas in (a black piece of rubber that moves up and down with the turning of the engine). There's a plastic piece with two seperate inlets will rubber seals and springs as well that fit into that black cover. Those spring/seals are what seized up. I've tried to contact some local dealers in michigan about aquiring parts, but the ones I've gotten ahold of don't seem to be much help. Is there a diagram somewhere that I can look for the parts I need or is there a diaphragm rebuild kit, or does anyone have suggestions on what to do to get the parts I need? I even contacted argo directly but have yet to hear back. Anyones help and input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are referring to the fuel pump. I don't know what engine you have but see if it looks like these: briggs and stratton fuel pump - Google Search
If so then you can order them from any small engine shop or online. What engine do you have?

Ya looks a lot like the first image that comes up. I know for sure its 26hp so I'm pretty sure its kohler?(its over at my inlaws house right now so unable to check for sure right now but I can find that out. Another issue we are having though is the top two screws that hold that on are not holding, yet they don't seem to be stripped at all. You can feel them grab onto something almost like there is a nut down in there but it just can't quite grab it..not sure why that would be or what to do about it? The weird thing is when we put those screws in the top two holes, they kind of push back as if there is a spring down in there..does that make any sense to you?

Oh almost forgot, the screws that hold the fuel pump down..there's extremely small rubber orings that came out of the whole that those screws go in..I think we may have lost a couple of them, where could I get those? Thanks again for the help,I really appreciate it.

You will need to get the make and model of the engine. I'm not sure about the Kohlers but the model numbers are usually located on the shrouds. Once you have those you should be able to order everything that you need. Post back with that information and I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction.

When I had bought my argo it needed a bunch of work , including the fuel pump, problem being there were no serial numbers on the engine shrouding.I had searched oppengines site for carb. numbers hoping to match mine but no luck.I called and give them the numbers on the carb, wich was no use,so they asked for the numbers on the intake manifold, which I had but the middle digit was missing. Then he asked what kind of machine it was for and in seconds he knew all the info on my machine, even what month it was built.I just found that fascinating how easy he came up with the info with so little to go on.We even talked a bit on the argo, but at the time I hadn't even drove it so I couldn't answer all the questions he had about it. If I remember the guys name that did the searching for me is Sawil. Hope I didn't bore you with this and good luck.

Just fyi, thanks a ton for your reference to OPEengines they were great. That Sawil guy is the one I talked to and he def.knows his stuff! I didn't have any of the model/spec numbers off the engine because its a ways away at my in laws, and he has bad eyes so couldn't find them himself. Anyways he just asked me a couple questions and narrowed it right down to what I need. Again thanks for all the help!
