Kohler 440 Won't Idle

The Kohler 440 in my Huster sometimes dies when it winds down to idle. I have to squeeze the throttle rapidly and repeatedly to keep it going when this happens. Runs fine at higher rpms. At other times it idles fine. Any ideas?
