  • Wanted help on finding rubber engine mounts.

They are 3/8 thread with an inch of rubber. Where are you guys getting them or what is the correct term for them? I looked at mcmaster carr and couldnt find any. I must be looking under something else?
    Thanks!

Try searching for engine isolators or isolating mounts. I think that's the term for them.

Edit: Larry, I did a quick google search and they are also called vibration mounts. Here is a page with a few different ones that popped up. I have no idea about this company but it may be a good starting point: http://www.vibrationmounts.com/Products1.htm

If you mean the ones about the size of a hockey puck that were in the Chief, Thunder Chief and Super Chief...I might have some spares.:-)

        George,
I didn't measure the diameter but they are a lot smaller then a hockey puck. I would say probably near an 1".

Thanks Mike, I will go hunting in those terms.

I think those Max type are the ones. I might have one or two of them in my pile of parts. I can bring them to Ashtabula if you'd like, Larry.

And Mike, good find on that website! Definitely an excellent parts source for custom builds.

I have a couple of the Attex ones that are in decent shape. I can bring them to Ash, too. Grainger sells them, too; that's where I picked mine up.

Here are the search results for "vibration isolator" on their website... Lots of options if you need to space differently from stock....

Try this also Larry. Many to choose from.

                McMaster-Carr

They are listed as vibration isolators. Different durometer ratings. Pretty descent prices.
