  • JLO Differences

Hey Folks; I was wondering what the differences between a 292, 295 and the 297 JLO? I've been trying to get a gasket set, so I can turn my head and jug around! Mfg. Supply Co. is the only place I seem to be able to find a gasket set, but they only mention 292 and 297! Is a 295 the same as either of these engines? The snowmobile shops I've contacted tell me they don't deal w/ these antiques. Thanks again Brian!

I needed to turn the jug around as well. "Twas not that bad of a job. If you can, leave the piston in the head so that you don't have to fart around with the rings. Then when you rotate it, you keep the same disposition inside the cylinder. Here is where I bought my JLO gaskets:

When you get your head off, look at the top of your piston. You may have to scrape the carbon off. You should see an arrow stamped into the piston. This should point to your exhaust port. Your head (if 6 bolt) will also likely be marked for intake side.
