Kohler 2 stroke starting issues

its the old kohler 2 stroke, and i have good spark and good gas and it isnt even firing or back firing it just turns over, it doesnt even fire with a little shot of either... any suggestions let me know thanks, jake

Hey Jake, If it has good spark, I wonder if the key way is broke on the flywheel or maybe some other timing issue. What kohler do you have?

Hey I have the same problem right now, except I have the 300cc kohler 2 stroke. It will start if I work at it long enough but mostly it is very rough. When it does fire, it usually revs up then dies despite adjusting throttle. I know it could get easier with some carb work, but I'm not sure where to start. Also it's a pull start.

Nevermind make that a rotax 300cc, the kohler isn't in right now.
