HI I have a promblem with my 25 hp kholer engine I havent had it running in over a year and went out there to get it going and it wont runn on it own,I have to hold the choke plate all the way on.I change the gas the filter sprayed out the fuel pump with gum out the carb area in the air filter area with gum out and can not get it to run with out putting gas into the carb it self.I have a couple Ideas but I want to hear from you guys that know these things better.

my 25 kohler has a fuel cutoff seloniod on the side of the carb that is famous for getting plugged if it sits with gas in it for to long i think step 1 is with your hand on the seloniod turn the key on and off and see if it clicks to confirm its working and not an electrial problem and second remove it and see if you have fuel flow from the pump to the carb step 3 would be to remove the top of the carb and take a look inside...... ps the seloniod is powered up when there is flow(key on) and de energised with (key off)good luck
