  • Attex with a baker hill transmission.

My question is it does have a motor that does not run right. It looks like and older briggs and stratton with electric start maybe 8 or 10 hp. I would like to know what motor I can put in it as a replacement. This 6x6 will be used for hunting not for racing and most of the time carry 1 person. What do you recommended ?

If yours is original, it's either a 208TT (eight horse Briggs) or a Frontiersman (12 horse Tecumseh). The little B&S pushed the 208 along just fine, even with two average-size people as payload. The drive train on the early Attex is very light, so you may not want to use an engine with too much power. Good Luck.
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

    (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

Thanks for the reply ! What would be a good motor to buy and did these motors sit low in the frame? Also I did notice that that secondary sheave / pulley seems like it is not wide enough for the belt to ride in , the belt that is on it is about 1 1/4 "wide I think it should be like 3/4 to an 1" wide correct me if I'm wrong !
