  • Argo Bigfoot Flooding

    Hi All,
I'm new here, I have a 2000 Argo Bigfoot that sat for a couple of years. I've cleaned the gum out of the carb but can't seem to get the float to stop the flow of gas. Is there somewhere to get the specs/procedure to properly set the float? Any and all information is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Vern...

a little more info on the engine would help us to advise you on this (make model, carb type). a briggs has either a steel needle and rubber seat, or a rubber coated needle and steel seat. if the rubber gets dry rot it won't seat. also if you rebuilt the carb, it's possible that you put a steel needle in a steel seat. if you haven't rebuilt it check out: Home - Briggs & Stratton (assuming it's a briggs) you can order a rebuild kit there and it will come with instructions

If you havent changed the needle, and the rubber looks good, then try cleaning the old school way. Pipe cleaners, and try letting the carb soak in a big coffe can with mineral spirits, or deisel fuel seems to work well!
