I have a sidewinder with a JLO 295. I was able to get it started, but it would not stop. I notided the 2 yellow wires coming out of the engine were not connected to anything and the black wire coming off the coil is not connected to anything. I looked at the wiring documentation and I do not have any rectifier or anything else to connect them to. Does anyone know where the wires should go?

I'm trying to go off memory, I just replaced my JLO 295 with a 4-Stroke. Anyway, I believe I had the yellow wires connected to a toggle switch to shut the motor off. I think one of them even had a red stripe?? I'm pretty sure I have some pictures on my home computer, I'll check when I get home. I think the black wire went to the rectifier.

The two yellow wires will connect to a rectifier/regulator and the black (w/white stripe?) should be the kill wire. If you ground the black wire to the negative battery post there shouldn't be any iginition spark. Hope this helps.Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.
