I have a tecumseh engine 16 horse when i give it gas and am able to get wide open the governer will fight me and it makes it unbarable to ride is there anything i can do to not have to fight for full throttle besides un hooking it

Your best bet would be to get a manual for that engine and go through step by step to adjust the governor. If it were a Kohler I could walk ya through it but Techys are a different animal. -
If that is a oh160 then there is a screw on the bottom of the governor linkage. The screw is just a mechanical limit so you dont pull to hard to over ride the governor. If you screw that out you can get more rpms. That allows you to pull further on the governor which opens the carb. I did that on my oh180 and it made a big difference. But be careful about over revving.Comment
