Wiring and fuel pump questions on my 440 Thunderchief

I just picked this up. The wiring is a hack job and there are no fuel lines at all. It has a kawasaki 440 Engine in it with a single mikuni carb.

My question is there is a square and a round fuel pump on the back by the engine, Which one is the original, or do they both get used? A Fuel line diagram would be extremely helpful.

Also as stated my wiring is a major hack job, I'd love to find a wiring diagram.
