I've been doing this for a while on machines with Mikuni carbs. You can use whatever length you need, Max IV, Max II, Buffalo Truck, along with the Max throttle handle. Then drill the Mikuni carb cap with a "letter I" drill bit. Next you tap it with a 5/16" 20 or 24 pitch I believe, tap. You also might need to cut a little bit of the metal end down so it fits in the round slide of the carb. Then just assemble it and you're good to go.

I used a Max IV throttle cable too for my 440 Thunderchief racer and on my Superchief trail machine with a Kohler V twin I used a Max II cable because it's routed differently. I mentioned in my previous post, you can use whatever one length you need......this all depends on the application. I do a lot of custom work and use different lengths for every machine I build. You just have to get your measurments first.
