I just got my argo up and running again and the throttle is sometimes getting stuck at a high RPM and I have to rev really high and let go quick for it to return to normal idle speed, though it doesn't always work sometimes I have to rev high multiple times (The twist throttle isn't sticking, but the engine RPM is). I'm pretty sure the return springs on the throttle mechanism are just weak and not doing their job at returning it back to idle (im not very mechanical but pretty sure this is the issue). First of all has this ever happened to anyone and might sound like a dumb question but where can I get replacement springs for it? Can i go to hardware store and find one as similar in size as possible and try it and see what happens? Maybe grab a few diff tensions and try them out see what works? I'm not positive this is the issue but pretty sure, that's what those spring are for right? Thanks for any input

backfire is normal. before you mess with carb springs, I would clean, and lube everything really well. on some engines the governor and throttle can be VERY sensitive to spring lengths and tension. if the machine sat for any length of time, the fuel has started to varnish and that varnish can build up around the throttle shaft (inside the carb) and cause it to stick. I would burn off the old fuel ASAP, then clean the carb (spray a can of carb cleaner through it) then lube all the external linkages and the bushings where the throttle shaft pivotsA well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

my kb model was the same.governor controled the throttle.damn thing would sometimes stay in high idle untill i reved it then idle would ramp down.easy solution was to move governer spring one hole on the arm from factory setting.now idle is more consistant and governor works as it should as well.
