had the carb off to clean and was checking governor assembly on kawasaki 20 hp and noticed that there is play in the governor. the governor shaft(that goes into the motor)has some vertical play in it. not a whole lot but probably moves 1/8 of an inch. anybody on here that can check their machine or someone that can tell me if this is normal or if i have a problem waiting to happen??? never noticed this before and has got me worried. thanks

Well, I hope you don't quote me on this one, but I "think" that's normal

If not, I might have a couple "problems waiting to happen" as well. I don't have a machine handy to check, right now.

it has been like this for a year or two now so i guess if it was going to fail me it probably would have done this already. watch next time im out in the middle of never land itll pop the hell out and ill have a few mile trek through the deep sh8t!! if ya think of it and get the time next time you have your carb off you want to snap a picture of the governor/throttle linkage for me? its almost like the machine is not doing was it was designed to do. your just hopping all over this site answering everyones questions! right on like i say its appreciated and nice to talk to someone that knows what their doing with them. sorry about that i was still thinking of the clutch mod. meant to say carb!
