  • 22hp Diesel V twin. Made in China?

Hi Guys, Not been on for ages busy with work. I've still been searching for parts and suppliers for my hustler An auction on ebay with 2 x 22hp V twin diesel engines (generators) which I may be able to get cheap.

Diesel Generator and 22hp engine on eBay (end time 23-Feb-11 19:05:03 GMT)
Both engines are working, only one has a starter motor though
I'm interested in everyone's thoughts or if anyone as used one or knows someone that used one,

1, If it moves and it ain't suppose to use Duck tape.If it don't move and it's suppose to use WD40.

2, If it got tits or wheels it will cost you lots of money and grief.

Not sure about that one, but I've read where generators have a different shaft taper compared to two-stroke motors. That may come into play when looking for a clutch. Just something to keep in mind.

If that rotation is anticlockwise when facing the flywheel, then it is running backwards to a normal engine. Generators usually run a tapered output shaft as gearhead said, and it may make finding a suitable clutch a problem.

Longfar makes a great diesel engine. I looked on the web it looks like most of these have a 1" output shaft, since 1" clutches are plentiful, you should be set.
They sell these things all over the world, and have only penetrated the U.S. market during the last 3-4 years. I saw many Longfars in the middle east years ago, they were well reputed and several I saw then had 4000+ hours on them and were still working.

Hi Testrun, The only thing I'd like to add is if you go with a liquid cooled motor you can add a heater core/defroster in the return line. Depends on your winters. Wish I had gone liquid. It's been a long cold winter. Good luck
