  • Chaparral/Xenoah ID help please

    Hey Folks,

A guy on ebay asked me to help identify the application of a Xenoah hydraulic pump that he acquired with a bunch of NOS Chaparral parts.

Anyone ever see one of these before and know what they were used on/for?

George, Strange looking pump. usually an open loop hydraulic pump would have the pressure and reservoir port identified or the inlet port would be larger. A hydrostatic pump would have a drain connection and a charge port inlet. could be a hydraulic motor. It could also be a hydrostatic drive (pump plus motor)with the grooved hub as the drive pulley and the spline shaft as the output. The bolted cover would be the reservoir and the two lines would circulate oil to a head tank and cooler/filter. Can the finned part turn when you hold the part with the 2 port connections?

Hello all and thanks to George for posting that for me.

This is actually my part. The part that has the outlet lines on it can spin independently as can the input shaft and the whole outer housing for that matter. Near as I can tell a serpentine bet could be used to spin the entire outer part as it sure looks like it is setup for that. Don't know, it is quite a strange item. .. .
